How FundingCompass Makes Money
Last updated: May 2026
How We’re Funded
FundingCompass is advertiser-funded and editorially independent. We earn revenue through three mechanisms:
Referral fees. When a reader clicks a link to a lender’s site and applies for a product, the lender may pay FundingCompass a referral fee. Not all providers we cover have this arrangement — coverage decisions are made editorially, not commercially.
Display advertising. General advertising from non-lending sources may appear on the site.
Sponsored listings. Lenders may pay to appear as a “featured provider” in comparison sections. Sponsored placements are clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial rankings.
What We Will Never Do
Regardless of how FundingCompass generates revenue, these practices are permanently off limits:
- We will not allow any lender to pay for improved editorial coverage, higher rankings, or more favourable reviews.
- We will not accept payment to suppress negative information about a provider.
- We will not write reviews or comparisons that are, in substance, marketing copy regardless of how they are labelled.
- We will not use affiliate commission rates as a factor in how we rank or recommend providers.
Disclosure Practice
Where FundingCompass has an affiliate arrangement with a specific provider, we:
- Disclose it at the top of the relevant review or compare page
- List it below with the date the arrangement began
- Apply the same editorial standards as for non-affiliate providers — including negative information, cost warnings, and honest comparisons
Active affiliate relationships:
None at this time. This table will be updated when relationships are established.
Our editorial decisions — which providers to cover, how to rank them, what rates to publish — are made independently of any commercial relationship.
